COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In January 2015, Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx challenged city leaders to raise the bar for bicyclist and pedestrian safety by joining a year-long “Mayor’s Challenge for Safe People and Safer Streets” effort. Mayors and other elected city officials participated by leading a call to action and forming a local action team to advance safety and accessibility goals by taking on one or more Challenge activities.

 

This webinar is your opportunity to learn about the available resources to help you accomplish your Challenge Activity Goals for your jurisdiction. This webinar will highlight the City of Memphis involvement in the Mayor’s Challenge and their efforts to achieve their challenge activity goal.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Recognize the importance of pedestrian and bicycle safety and how the Mayor's Challenge will lead to fewer injuries and fatalities.
2. Identify an example from the City of Memphis process and progress with taking on the Mayor's Challenge.

Earning Course Credit: A course evaluation must be completed. This enrollment and the evaluation is name specific and non-transferable. Site attendees may earn course credits upon verification by ITE staff. Instructions regarding the process will be provided to the site registrant via email and in an attachment.
