The ‘Safety Culture 101’ webinar will offer an introduction on safety culture and transportation. The webinar will cover the following topics –

  • Definitions and Principles of Safety Culture
  • Cultivate Safety Culture – What & How
  • Examples and Lessons Learned from Implementing Safety Culture
  • Safety Culture and Safe Systems

The webinar will be moderated by Dr. David Yang, Executive Director of AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety with presentations and discussion from an esteems panel of researchers and practitioners from academia, government, and industry – Dr. Nicolas Ward of Montana State University, Dr. John Milton of Washington State Department of Transportation, Kristin Kingsley of Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, and David Liu of American Honda Motor Company. Content of this webinar should be an interest to individuals and organizations who would like to gain a better understanding on the concept of safety culture and how to create it to enhance safety.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarize definitions and principles of Safety Culture for practitioners
  • Describe how to cultivate Safety Culture within the transportation profession.
  • Provide examples and lessons from implementing Safety Culture in the transportation system and vehicle technology.
  • Begin to outline connections between Safety Culture and Safe Systems in Road to Zero work.

Multiple attendees at one location are welcome to attend with an additional fee of $15 member/$25 nonmember. Login will be required. Instructions will be provided at the start and end of the webinar.

On-demand recordings provide PDH credit to the registered attendee only; and does not provide credit to multiple attendees at one location.
