Clear Signals 101

Developed and Sponsored by Miovision.

Webinar Description:
With the ever changing traffic conditions keeping signal timings aligned with objectives and demand is a challenging task. With advances in automated traffic performance data collection keeping track of the changes is both more efficient and proactive. However, due to the new nature of the data successfully incorporating it into current workflows may be overwhelming and challenging.

In this webinar, we will describe a simple checklist approach that can be used to evaluate the performance of intersections and corridors against objectives in three main areas of maintenance, operations and optimization. This will be accompanied with detailed description of the metrics and assessment criteria both at the intersection and corridor level.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe what SPMs are
  • Understand what each chart shows
  • Assess the performance of a corridor against objectives
  • Assess the performance of individual intersections against objectives
  • Provide recommendations in addressing intersection and corridor level performance
