Multimodal Traffic Signal Design and Operations for Public A
Webinar Description:
This webinar is focused on traffic signal design and operations treatments that are being used by local agencies to show their responsiveness to requests by people that are cycling and walking. The use of engineering countermeasure selection will be discussed along with examples that have been deployed in communities and how they compare to some of the best practices in Western Europe and Asia. Research concepts on using traffic signals for speed management will also be described.
Learning Objectives:
Identify design approaches that make traffic signals safer and more comfortable for nonmotorized road users.
Describe a set of treatments that can be measured to show engineering progress for improving the multimodal environment in your community.
Understand strategies for improving intersections through geometric changes, signal timing, protected phasing, and more.
