RSP Level 2 Behavioral Refresher Course

Course Description:
This refresher course will help you prepare for the Road Safety Professionals Level 2 test in Behavioral Safety. It covers the global aspects of roadway safety that apply to both engineering and behavioral safety management but focuses explicitly on the behavioral component. A key thread throughout is the human factor in traffic safety—how human capabilities, limitations, and error directly impact the frequency and severity of crashes. Building on that understanding, the course examines how we use data to identify problems such as at-risk sub-populations, specific behaviors that increase risk, and the countermeasures that can reduce risk. The course describes the multi-agency, multi-disciplinary approach to behavioral safety and describes the many data sources that help to identify and diagnose safety problems. The course describes the roles of multiple stakeholders and explains holistic approaches including safe systems, safety culture, and others. The course explains the types and methods of analysis and points to resources where practitioners can learn more about the proven countermeasures and research.
