This ITE Informational Report, ITE Collision Reporting Research: Assessing the Collision Data Needs of Transportation Engineers, was prepared by the Institute of Transportation Engineers Pedestrian and Bicycle Council to evaluate collision data needs of transportation professionals. It is intended for use by ITE members and other transportation professionals in recommending refinements to national standards on collision data reporting questionnaires; changes in collision reporting practices; inputs related to federal funding legislation; and continued research on underreporting of collisions.
