Warning Signs - What, Where, Why, When and Liability Concern

Webinar Description:
Warning signs are used to draw attention to unexpected conditions, changes in traffic control, speed limits and roadway geometry, as well as inform about the presence of vulnerable road users and wildlife. With such a wide variety of applications, warning signs are a critical tool in informing the road users to safely navigate the transportation system.

This webinar will cover the need, categories, design and application of the warning signs including a brief history and potential changes being considered by the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD) to be incorporated in the future edition of the MUTCD.

The webinar will also provide examples of unique applications (children at play, wildlife crossing, deaf child, smoke/fog, icy roads, runaway truck ramp, etc.) as well as unnecessary use of warning signs leading to sign clutter and disrespect for all signs.

Finally, this webinar will cover the need and application of warning signs from a liability perspective using real-world examples by an expert witness.
